I didn’t start really getting into chewing until I went to grad school, though. I figured out that the peppermint from regular gum helped me concentrate, so I would chew it while I studied and then again during tests or while writing papers. Doing that helped my recall considerably. To this day, I still enjoy a nice peppermint gum. In fact, I’m chewing some right now as I write this blog post!
But I also enjoy bubble gum, too. There’s something about it that just can’t be beaten. There is, of course, the obvious–the fact that bubble gum makes much better bubbles than regular old chewing gum. But there’s also something about the flavor and the way it looks in my mouth that I really enjoy, too.
And I’d be lying if I told you I weren’t the kind of person to play with my gum sometimes, too. After the flavor is mostly gone, and it’s all weird and stretchy, sometimes I like to wrap it around my finger and play with it. I know, it’s kind of gross, but I can’t help myself. It’s just so tempting!
